Founder's Circle 2012: I'm here!!

It has been a very long day of travel and considering I only got 45 minutes of sleep the night before I left (or rather the morning that I left!), I am officially exhausted. And I've given myself a time limit for blogging tonight. I only have a few minutes before my time is up, so I'll share some pictures and write more tomorrow.

I'm here!! And Southern Utah is GORGEOUS!! And nothing like flat Central Illinois. I need to get some sleep because tomorrow morning, I'm going on my first of two outdoor excursions! I will be rappelling and zip lining! I've never done either one, so I'm excited and nervous -- and I can't wait!!

Scenes from the bus ride from Las Vegas to Utah...getting close to St. George!

Can you guess the theme this year?

Right off the bus and checking into my room. MY room! I don't have to share!! I think that's one of my favorite parts of this retreat is having my own space and being on my own schedule, doing whatever *I* want!

My battery died taking photos in the Gathering Place. I'll snap more tomorrow. There was candy everywhere and I got to play Plinko for a roll of free ribbon!

The event staff is amazing! Their attention to every little detail is astounding! Notice the glass on the left with the blue bottom? It has the Founder's Circle 2012 logo on it! We were served yummy lemonade at the Welcome Reception and get to keep the glass! And look what's in the little package left for me at the dinner table. Can you  believe it!? A personalized stamp with my name on it!

After the welcome reception, and dinner, and meeting lots of new friends, I returned to my room to find my first pillow gift! Supplies for make and take projects! The (brand new) stamp set in the middle of the package isn't visible. It's a great new set of sentiments, mostly quotes, I think. Looks like we'll be making scrapbook pages. Can't wait to see!!

Julie, I am so happy for you and proud of you. You are a great example for so many people, possibly most importantly your children. You had goals and followed dreams to make trips like this possible. Enjoy yourself and the beauty of southern Utah.........Vivian L
